After a full month of complaining, sulking and chanting WE WANT HIGH SPEED INTERNET to my father, he finally gave in!! Between the hours of 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM on Wednesday we should be getting the nice people from the cable place to install internet to our humble residence. I was going to wait until Wednesday, but I am just so happy that I couldn't wait!!! Another reason I wanted to wait is because, well I am not doing anything worth writing about! I am learning photoshop throught the bestest photoshop book ever written (seriously I spent 3 days in two bookstores looking through photoshop books!)Adobe Photoshop CS2 one-on-one by this dude Deke McClelland. Funny guy, he really knows his stuff. I dont' have anything exciting to show but I learned tons about color, contrast corrections with the lovely levels and curves and variations and what have you. And get this I can draw paths (well kinda). I am hoping to translate these skills to give my blog a different look (Mr. Balyiiysisiteri I think is going to help--right?) I have lotta pics I want to post here. I did upload my gra-du-ca-tion photos on flickr for the enjoyment of my ten thousand relatives in Turkey! Wednesday, come over here -- quick!!! tow I graduated
This is insane, my dad (the computer programmer/systems analyst) refuses to get DSL for our house. We use dial-up and only during night hours because you know it ties up to phone. It feels like 1998, grr. And this is the reason why I can't really update. I am planning to go to the library to use the wireless there to upload photos and generally update everything else. But a short summary is I graduated, with honors. Finished my thesis, got an A in my thesis and moved back to Milwaukee. And now I am teaching myself photoshop, because I have a ton of time in my hands and I always wanted to learn photoshop! I will be back insaAllah!! kelebek }{

tow too close to graduation
After pulling an all nighter at the library as seen in my previous post I did it again for the night of May 6th connecting it to the day of May 7th. I handed in the seven page paper I had due at 12:00 PM on Sunday. Then my mom, aka "The Tornado" for her roompacking skills, came to help me pack my stuff. She told me I can take a nap, but thank God I didn't! If I had fallen asleep she would have packed everything! Even with me telling "ANNE!! BIRAK ONU!!" (Mom leave that) she managed to pack 3/4 of everything I own. Sheesh!! It is going to be sad leaving Madison after two years... I fell like I just got here... I will prolly post a goodbye to Madison post at some point or another. Right now I need to go study for the finals and finish my thesis! After helping my mom not pack 1/4 of my things I met with Alex at the Overture Center. I didn't have a lot of exposure to classical music and Alex always wanted to go to a clasical music concert at the Overture Center. So I convinced him to get dressed up. He said he'll wear tie, but I said if you wear a suit, I will wear a skirt. Thank God he held up his end of the bargain!! I have to say we both looked quite good. Judge for yourself!
There is Mr. Bahliz-Tari. Eek, no, he is not that ghostly white! The flash of his camera was waay too powerful and I couldn't remember what he taught me about chaning in the levels. I'll try to fix it when I remember!
And me! It's a shame that you can't see my really pretty skirt and awesome shoes. I shall have to model them because they really are pretty & awesome and pretty awesome! Look at the awesome location our seats were at! Ehehe, not really. But as I told Alex for $10 that was really quite a treat!! The event was called "Unfinished" Finale. You can listen to it here http://tinyurl.com/rh8hl One lesson of the event, don't clap between the movements. Alex said it disturbs the overall piece. I also got to learn what a French Horn, viola, basoon and bunch of other instruments look like, thanks to Alex. Over all it was a great experience and not one bit boring!! Last Wednesday also marked the last undergrad class I've ever attended. My friend took a pic of me in it...
And here's my friend Mike Duffy! He's going to LA to become a big shot classically trained artist. YAY for him!! OH, I forgot the biggest news of the week. MY GRANDPARENTS ARE COMING!!! Yes, they are flying in alllll the way from Turkey. Can you believe it? I haven't seen them since 1998!!! I can't wait, so, so excited! I don't think I will get time to update again until Saturday, or even Sunday. On sunday insaAllah as I frequently wrote about it I am graduating!! tow all nighter
I realized that no matter how much of the trendy blog things I do, I still haven't done a "simulblog" before. I do vaguely remember something like this when I was writing a paper last year, but this time I am doing it with the intention of "simulblogging! I was working at home today with intention of staying up reaaally late. But I caught Tina online and she told me she was pulling an allnighter at the College Library (one of the libraries on our campus that is open 24 hours). 11:13 I caught the 4 bus and got off at University & Lake 11:40 Bought a medium latte for myself and a medium coffee for Tina 11:55 Met Tina at the library. She wanted a small coffee but I told her "I have street creed Tina, I wouldn't be caught dead holding a small coffee!
12:05 Found a table kinda far from an outlet, dragged the table closer to the outlet. Also took 5 Photoshop magazines to read when I take a break. That is all Alex's fault by the way 12:20 My computer crashed because I tried to do too many things too fast 12:30 Started smilblog 12:38 Posted for the first time and now back to work. I shall be back *********** 1:36 AM The people in the table next to us is playing music on their laptop. No, not on their headphones, just regular music. Sheesh, so we got up and moved. I accomplished a few paragraphs but I was mostly chatting with T. Now that he has gone to bed I have no excuse. Must focus and type! I also finished reading one Photoshop Magazine. So excited to try new stuff. I forgat to write before walking into library I ran into my friend Adam and had a conversation about how Turks had aided the reign of white supremecists in Germany. Don't ask! He also said "I don't give my phone number to brown people" which I replied with "Dude I am whiter than you." This was of course not meant as a rascit comment (we both have plenty of "brown" friends) but more like har har type of thing. Me go work some more. Mmm, pizza! We are ordering it in an hour or so! Diet? What diet? ***************** The rest of the night I kept the blog on a notepad file. Here it is. Right now it is 6:47 AM. I did accomplish quite a bit!!
